Writing Salon at the Farm

  • Susan Weis-Bohlen 2015 Emory Road Reisterstown, MD, 21136 United States (map)

Good Contrivance Farm in Reisterstown offers us an abundance of natural beauty to stoke our creativity. We’ll gather in the old school house for an afternoon of writing, sharing, feedback and craft.

Join me at Good Contrivance Farm in Reisterstown for a half-day retreat to get your story onto the page.

In this half-day retreat, we will see why writing matters. By exploring our personal stories, we can begin to see how they have shaped our current narrative—the story we tell ourselves about who we are. Writing prompts help us to access our deepest memories and pivotal moments, recent regrets, and ancient anecdotes. You have precious truths, plots, and schemes, and they matter. They are important. They are the story of you. Giving voice to your words is so empowering and a path to self-discovery.

The only requirement is that you have lived a life. Even if you don’t think it’s been exciting or extraordinary, I promise you, it has been unique. We yearn to hear stories, to share, relate, commune, and converse. If you want to express yourself more fully, make sense of your life, and meet others on the same path of exploration, this is for you. Vulnerability is your strength. Vulnerability is how we tell meaningful stories. We will create a safe space, limited to ten people, to ensure sufficient time to share. You may be writing for publication, personal discovery, to leave a legacy, or to explore your past and create your future. All are welcome. See how your story can unfold in unexpected ways.

The afternoon will include writing prompts, specific exercises for finding the best way to express ourselves, techniques and tools to structure your story, find a theme, and create your framework.

Your takeaways will be a foundation to build upon, a quiet inner critic who doesn’t get in your way, fortitude and bravery to tell your truth, and self-discovery through writing.

Hear how your voice and others hold power and sway.

Space is limited so please sign up soon by emailing me at susan@susanweisbohlen.com.
