Writng Salon at The Station

  • Susan Weis-Bohlen 10512 Falls Road Timonium, MD, 21093 United States (map)

Join me for in-person writing, using the Gateless Method, on the second Thursday of the month. Our new location is the old train station house on Falls Road, across from the Valley Inn in Brooklandville. The space is gorgeous and renovated meticulously to match the original details from 1901. We will write in a grand dining area at a beautiful hard-wood table, or you can wander to the Station Master's Office and write in the waiting room! The space and the grounds will inspire you.

HOW IT WORKS: After we gather and briefly introduce ourselves, I’ll lead us in a meditation, offering a writing prompt. Then we take 15 minutes or so to write on our own, and come back to the group. Those who want to can share. The group gives positive feedback on what we loved in the piece, what moved us, and what we found most compelling. This encourages you to keep writing and to see where you shine! Active listening is as important as the writing. Giving voice to your words is so empowering.

We will have Writing Salons here on the SECOND Thursday of the month (excpet august, when we will meet on Aug. 7), from 11 am to 1 pm. The cost is free, or you can pay any amount you'd like (a portion of which will go to the Station. Suggested donation is $5 - $20). This is an open writing group for any and all to attend. No experience is necessary.
